Associate Patrick M. Cannell focuses his practice on insurance matters involving coverage and general defense. Patrick received his J.D. magna cum laude in 2018 from the University of Akron School of Law and his B.A. cum laude in 2015 from Xavier University. During law school, Patrick was president of the Moot Court Honor Society and a recipient of the CALI Award in administration of criminal justice. Patrick obtained his Ohio Bar admission in November 2018 and is also admitted to the United States District Court, Northern District of Ohio. Patrick is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association where he serves as Vice Chair of the Insurance Law Section.  He is also a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys. In May 2021, Patrick was a presenter on the topic of “Update on the Dispute Over Coverage for Business Interruption Claims Caused by Covid-19” at the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s Insurance Seminar. In September 2021, Patrick was a speaker at the Ohio State Bar Association’s Insurance and Negligence Law Conference on the subject of “Risk Transfer – Additional Insureds and Contractual Indemnity – Superhighway or Route 66?” Most recently, Patrick was a presenter at the CMBA’s Insurance Law Section 2022 Winter Seminar on the insurance aspects of hazing in his presentation, “Hazing: Accidental “Occurrence” or Intentional Act?”
